Selected work

25+ years working mostly on products you can hold. Cameras, watches, phones, bespoke software on custom hardware. Lately, a lot that work while you don't. Agents driving computers, generating films, publishing pages. The medium changes every few years but the job really doesn't. Figure out what the product should be, the problem to solve, design it, ship the real thing. Repeat.

Full case studies coming soon. Reach out for more.

Sai Computer Use Agent

Agentic AI · Product Design · Design Systems

Simular's agent operates a real computer: browsers, logins, files, work happening while you're elsewhere. I designed the interface layer that makes that tolerable to a professional: what you see while an agent drives, when you're asked before it acts, how you step in, and how you teach it something new. Designed by building: a working prototype of the entire product, twelve weeks, 125 commits, built by directing AI agents daily.

GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini

Product Design · Hardware/Software

GoPro wanted to ship a smaller, more durable Hero: no touchscreen, two buttons, 72×32 pixel two-color screen. The design problem was a full-featured camera UX on 8-bit hardware that a snowboarder in whiteout conditions could operate without looking. I led the UX end to end.

Moment Pro Camera

Product Design · Mobile · Hardware/Software

Moment was a hardware company that needed a software business. I led that zero to one: a pro camera app built around the thesis that creators wanted real tools, not filters. Manual controls, RAW, focus peaking, zebras, a histogram that didn't lie. SLR feel on a phone screen without making the phone screen feel like an SLR.

Superpilot

Agentic AI · Product Design · Design Systems

Superpilot generates on-brand landing pages for enterprise ecommerce brands, the category where AI slop on your own domain is a firing offense. Eight months of founding design, end to end: brand voice and the marketing site (designed twice, the second time built in code), the first-run experience as a working prototype, the editor, and a design system whose governing docs are written for human teammates and AI coding agents equally. The launch video is the prototype, recorded.

Google Fonts

Responsive Web · Product Design · Design Systems

Redesign of the Google Fonts browse, specimen, and pairing experience. Tens of millions of designers and developers come through every month. The old surface was a grid of cards that hadn't kept up with variable fonts, icon fonts, or non-Latin scripts.

Mapbox Fleet Driver App

Shipping/Logistics · Product Design · Mobile

Straightaway was Mapbox's bet on a better experience for professional drivers: a turn-by-turn app for delivery fleets, plus the dispatch and planning console behind it. Clients included FedEx, UPS, and USPS.

Contour Action Camera

Product Design · Mobile · Hardware/Software

Before "connected hardware" was a common term, Contour created one of the first action cameras. The problem? The camera had no screen and only three buttons, forcing users to connect to a computer to change any of the settings, a non-starter in the field. The challenge was to solve this by creating one of the first-ever connected camera and mobile app experiences.

Katalyst EMS Training

Product Design · Hardware/Software

Katalyst is a connected fitness system built on electrical muscle stimulation. A suit you wet down, strap tight, and pair to an iPad that drives impulses into your muscles. Onboarding used to happen in person or over Zoom, which stopped scaling as the customer base grew.

I designed the path from unboxing to first workout, including the starting intensity that decides whether the whole product feels effective or pointless.

Branch Ergonomics App

Product Design · Mobile · Hardware/Software

Branch makes furniture with sensors in them. I designed the native iOS app that makes the sensor data worth having: real-time posture feedback via AirPods, standing cues, gentle streaks that don't guilt you into submission.

Posture, standing, and movement resolve into a single daily Work Score. Founder idea to shipped app, working directly with the CEO on all of it: direction, visual, interaction, motion. Released and in active use.

Google Pixel Watch

Concept · Wearables · Product Design

Concept work with the Pixel Watch team on a two to three year horizon, well past what was shipping at the time. AI features on the wrist: what helps, what gets in the way, what a screen that small can hold without becoming useless. Discovery through concept development and roadmap. NDA on the specifics.
